JOHN L. CAIN JR.

Mr. John L. Cain Jr., 41, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Quincy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior who he loved and served in his own unique and public way on Tuesday (May 19, 2009) in his home in Boca Raton, Florida.

A native of Quincy, John was born October 1, 1967, the son of John and Donna M. Powell Cain Sr. He married Sherisa Stevens on March 22, 1997 in Quincy. She survives.

A graduate of Quincy High School, John has lived in Florida for nearly 20 years and worked as a supervisor in pool construction. John was respected by many of his fellow co-workers and friends in the pool business and was known for his work ethics in always "doing the right thing".

John served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Hawaii. He was a member of Boca Glades Baptist Church, where he worshiped and served the Lord with love and was a loving and compassionate father who wanted to share Jesus with everyone. As his four year old daughter said, "My daddy is with Jesus". The man with the big heart, upbeat attitude, quirky voice and unique dancing ability is now home with his Lord, whom he loved so much.

Survivors include his wife, Sherisa; three children, Taylor Brooke Cain, Logan Dean Cain and Emma Mae Cain all of Boca Raton, FL; his mother, Donna Curley and her husband Ed of Quincy; his father, John Cain Sr. of Quincy; two sisters, Tina Gardner and her husband Otis and Terri Cain both of Quincy; three half sisters, Terri Russell, Shawna Hill and Amanda Simpson, all of Quincy; two sisters in law, Rebecca Garner and her husband Michael of Quincy and Melissa Miles and her husband Marty of Canton, MO; his in laws, Joyce and Fred Stevens of Quincy; and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Columbus Road Baptist Church by Pastor Terry Cain. Burial with Military Honors by Payson VFW Post 2061will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until the time of servies at Columbus Road Baptist Church.
