JOHN M. RUTHS

Mr. John M. Ruths, 76, of Payson, died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday (December 28, 2005) in North Adams Home in Mendon.

Born May 25, 1929 in Quincy, John was the son of Walter D. and Jane Ann Rights Ruths. He married Isabelle Allen on February 15, 1947 in Palmyra, Missouri.

John was an avid horse enthusiast who loved trailriding and showing horses. John also drove teams of horses for many local weddings and parades. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the American Paint Horse Association and the Adams County Olde Tyme Association.

John was a dairy farmer in the Payson area all of his life until his retirement.

Surviving are two sons, John M. "Jack" Ruths III and his wife Cherie of Payson and Tom Ruths and his wife Deborah of Liberty; two daughters, Sue Voth and Michele Crowley and her husband Roy both of Quincy; four grandchildren, Thomas D. Ruths and his fiance' Dee Dee Kelsey and Scott R. Ruths both of Liberty, Kesi Holbrook and her husband Chris of Vermillion, S.D. and Kent Voth of Quincy; two great granddaughters; and five step grandchildren.

Mr. Ruths was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home
in Quincy. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.
