
JULIA A. KOURY
Ms. Julia A. Koury, 90, of Sunset Home, formerly of Sunset Apartments and 732 South 15th, died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday (March 15, 2005) in Sunset Home.
Born February 28, 1915 in Minonk, Illinois, Julia was the daughter of Edward and Rose Zarick. She married Norman Peter Koury on September 12, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died January 1, 1965.
Ms. Koury was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and was active in church organizations and activities. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking and was an Avon representative for many years in Quincy. Mrs. Koury was a wonderful mother who was devoted to her family and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Survivors include two sons, David N. Koury and his wife Ernestine of Waterloo, IA. and Victor N. Koury of Granger, IN.; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, William Zarick and his wife Elaine of Hannibal, MO.; and one sister, Jean Doran of Ft. Smith, AR.
Ms. Koury was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Helen Zraik, and one brother, Henry Zarick.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the St. John's Episcopal Church by the very Rev'd Canon H. W. Sandy Herrmann, SSC. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Saturday morning from 10:15 until the time of services at the church.
Memorials may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church or to Hospice.
