KARL WEYANT

Karl Weyant, 58, of Payson, died at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday (February 27, 2008) in Blessing Hospital.

Born March 8, 1949 in Quincy, Karl was the son of Kenneth and Verlan Trusley Weyant. He was first married to Connie Ludwig. He married Linda J. Mayfield Coward on February 14, 1978 in Quincy. She survives.

Karl was an avid fisherman and enjoyed bowling. He served his country in the Army in Vietnam receiving the Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.

Karl was employed at the Buckhorn Rubber Plant in Hannibal for 27 years until retiring in 2006 due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; three sons, Karl A. Weyant and Jennifer of Sheridan, IL; Robert M. Weyant and his wife Jamie of Roseville, IL and Brian Scott Weyant and his wife Candie of Quincy, IL; a step-daughter Christy Baker and her husband Phil of Stockbridge, GA; nine grandchildren, Stephen Weyant, and Karla Weyant both of Middlesburg, NY; William Weyant and Cassidy Weyant both of Quincy; Errika Baker, Jessica Baker, Cody Baker, and Paige Baker all of Stockbridge GA; and Kaleb Hinkle of Sheridan, IL; two aunts Ada Lou Wright of Canton, MO; and Thelma Reese of Mexico, MO; two half brothers Donald Weyant of Anchorage, AK; and Fred Weyant. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mr Weyant was preceded in death by his parents; step parents, and a brother Kenneth Glenn Weyant.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy by Pastor Kenneth Ballard. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4-7 and Monday morning until time of services at the funeral home.
