
KENNETH E. BERBLINGER
Kenneth E. Berblinger, 80, of rural Mendon, formerly of Quincy, died at 8:41 p.m. Wednesday (April 4, 2007) in Blessing Hospital.
Born November 12, 1926 in Quincy, Kenny was the son of Louis and Laura Meyer Berblinger. He married Irene Smith on January 31, 1948 in Quincy. She survives.
Kenny was a an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, mushroom hunting and quail hunting. Known as a "river rat", Kenny's greatest joy was fishing. He was also an avid bowler and loved baseball. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited and the Quincy Volunteer Emergency Corp.
Mr. Berblinger was employed at Gardner Denver at the LaGrange foundry as a finishing grinder for over 30 years retiring in 1979.
Also surviving is a daughter, Retta Knapp and her husband George of St. Mary's, ID.; three grandsons, Ethan, Pierce and Josh Knapp, all of St. Mary's, ID.; and several brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Warrant Officer Kenneth Michael Berglinger; and a brother, Robert Berblinger.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Burial with military honors by the Quincy American Legion Post #37 will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
