LAURA DOROTHY VAN CAMP

Mrs. Laura Dorothy Van Camp, 87, of 704 Sherwood Drive, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday (January 24, 2008) in Blessing Hospital.

Born February 17, 1920 in Quincy, Dorothy was the daughter of George and Grace McNutt Klarner. She married Gerald J. "Dutch" Van Camp on June 20, 1937 in Quincy. He died September 2, 1974.

Dorothy was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. She enjoyed bowling and fishing, but her greatest joy came in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dorothy was employed as a cook for the Plaza Restaurant for many years until her retirement.

Survivors include three sons, Richard A. Van Camp and his wife Dixie and Jack L. Van Camp and his wife Donna both of Quincy and Terry J. Van Camp and his wife Barb of Springfield, IL.; five grandchildren, Jeff Van Camp and his wife Dawn, Jill Foley, Lisa Eisenberg and her husband Terry, Mark Van Camp and Becky Peer; eleven great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Van Camp was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister and brother in law, Marguerite and Earl Rueter Sr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
