LEROY WRIGHT

Leroy Wright, 75, of 720 Cheshire, died at 8:21 p.m. Thursday (August 9, 2007) in Sunset Home.

Born July 21, 1932 in Humeston, IA., Leroy was the son of Wynford Wayne and Juanita Hidy Wright. He married Joan C. Baumgartner on December 26, 1951 in Quincy. She survives.

Leroy was a member of St. Francis Church and a graduate of Quincy High School. He enjoyed traveling, listening to music and reading history especially about Indian Culture. Leroy was a handyman who could fix anything and was always willing to help others. He renovated old bicycles and gave them to Catholic Charities and anybody else who needed a bike.

Mr. Wright worked in the family owned business at Wright's Auto Parts from 1948 until his retirement in 2006.

Survivors include his mother, Juanita Wright; his wife, Joan; a son, Dave W. Wright and his wife Sue; two daughters, Cindy McNeilly and her husband David and Cheryl Grover and her husband Monty all of Quincy; four grandchildren, Dana Golden and her husband Dan of Quincy, Cory Wright of Rockford, and Cassondra McNeilly and Sharon Brown both of Quincy; a brother in law, Glenn Scoggin of LaBelle, MO; a sister in law, Donna Wright of Quincy and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his father, a brother Robert G. Wright and a sister Erma Scoggin.

A Private family funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Russell Hess officiating. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery.
