
LOIS I. MEYER
Mrs. Lois I. Meyer, 81, of Sunset Home, formerly of 611 Country Club Heights, died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday (June 2, 2007) in the home.
Born August 21, 1925 in St. Joseph, MO., Lois was the daughter of Richard and Thelma Ross Winkler. She married Jack Meyer on February 16, 1947 in Quincy. He died October 29, 1984.
Mrs. Meyer was employed as a waitress at Cherington's Restaurant for 15 years and then worked at Bob and Sarge's. She later managed the clubhouse at Cedar Crest Country Club and was Quincy's first Meter Maid.
Surviving is a daughter, Ginger Mackiewicz and her husband Henry of Quincy; a son, Pete Meyer of Bozeman, MT.; five grandchildren, Kim Bryan of Lubbock, TX,, Michelle Bryan of Chicago, IL., and Jackie Mackiewicz, Amy Rainbolt and her husband Jake, and Jessie Merreighn, all of Quincy; three great grandchildren, Michelle Renee Bryan of Lubbock, TX., and Myles and Hayden Merreighn, both of Quincy, and a fourth great grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her companion of ten years, Wes Merritt.
Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in Sunset Cemetery by Rev. John Kennady.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Sunset Home.
