
LONA B. WHEELER DERENBURGER
Mrs. Lona B. Wheeler Derenburger, 86, of North Adams Home, formerly of Noble, Oklahoma, died at 11:32 a.m. Sunday (February 3, 2008) in North Adams Home.
Born May 14, 1921 in Lewis County, Missouri, Lona was the daughter of Elton "Tom" and Ethel Pruett Sweet. She was first married to Charles R. Wheeler in 1939 at St. Patrick, Missouri. She later married Coy Derenburger in 1954 in Monticello, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
Lona enjoyed working in her yard, sewing and visiting with people. She especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
She was employed as a sales person for Avon for 30 years until her retirement.
Survivors include four daughters Marilucille Campbell and her husband Troy of Yukon,OK, Beverly Neisen of Quincy, Cathy A. Martin and her husband Bill of Noble, OK, and Coleen G. Smith and her husband Troy of Butler, MO; a son, Phillip L. Wheeler and his wife Maureen of Lake Arrowhead, CA; 10 grandchildren, Lewis G. Turpin and his wife Marsha, Kathy Baltazar and her husband Bobby, Phillip H. Wheeler and his wife Laura, Michelle Richie, Tracy Neisen, Jared Neisen, Judy Martin, Scott Shearer, Paul Shearer and Gene Shearer; two step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; and a brother Noel Sweet and his wife Fay of LaBelle, MO.: and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Derenburger was preceded by her parents, husband and twin sisters Anngel Smith and Vangel Henderson Callow.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Knights of Columbus at 700 South 36th St.
