
MAE F. GOODWIN
Mrs. Mae F. Goodwin, 87, of 727 Madison, died at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday (April 5, 2006) in Blessing Hospital.
Born January 1, 1919 in Marblehead, Illinois, Mae was the daughter of August W. and Mary Jane Wilson Smith Sr. She married George A. "Gump" Goodwin on January 16, 1937 in Quincy. He died November 19, 1983.
Mae loved the outdoors, mushroom hunting, gardening and growing flowers. She was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
Surviving are four sons, James Goodwin and his wife Judy and Jeffry Goodwin and his wife Candie both of Quincy, Donald "Bill" Goodwin and his wife Janet of Wheatland, IN. and Michael Goodwin and his wife Barb of Jonesboro, AR.; three daughters, Shirley Hayes and her companion, Ed Gerard of New Canton, IL., Cynthia Reeves and her husband Donald and Beverly Snow and her husband Robert both of Quincy; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; three brothers, August W. Smith Jr. and his wife Patsy of Sandia, TX., Earl E. Smith and James L. Smith Sr. and his wife Edna both of Quincy; three sisters, Inez Bailey of Quincy, Minnie McElfresh and her husband William of Beardstown, IL. and Shirley Bowen and her husband Gary of Canton, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Goodwin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Clifford, Delbert, Thomas, Ralph, Billy and Carl Smith; and two sisters, Norma Miller and Celia Cooper.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Miller. Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
