MARGARET (MARTIN) & ELDON HANDRICH

   Margaret R. Martin Prunty Handrich, 60, her husband Eldon
Handrich, 59, of Laramie, Wyoming and Eldon’s father Willard Handrich,
89, of Grand Marais, Michigan lost their lives in Lake Superior when
their fishing boat capsized Friday October 6, 2006.


    Margaret, “Maggie” to many, was born August 17, 1946, the youngest
of nine children of Arthur and Mary Dehart Martin of Barry, Illinois.
Maggie attended Payson schools, graduating from Payson Seymour High
School in 1964. She graduated from Blessing Hospital School of
Nursing in 1967 and was employed as an emergency room nurse until her
retirement.

   On Oct. 5, 1992 she married Eldon Handrich. Eldon was an
emergency room physician in Wyoming and was researching the
nutritional value of buffalo meat.

   Eldon was born February 6, 1947 in Alpena, Michigan and was a

graduate of the University Of Colorado Medical School. Together

they raised buffalo on their ranches near Laramie and Wheatland,

Wyoming. “Bottle feeding a buffalo calf is hard work but a lot of fun”

Maggie would say, laughing.

   Surviving are Margaret’s mother Mary Martin of Barry, Il.; son
Brent Prunty of Wheatland, WY; four brothers, Arthur, Jr. (Betty)
Martin of Barry, Il, Earl Walter Martin of Barry, Il, Dale Martin of
Athens, Il, and Robert (Mary Jo) Martin of Peoria, Il; four sisters,
Nellie Martin of Quincy, Il, Mary Lou (Richard) Venvertloh of Quincy,
Il, Sally Gusewelle of Highland, Il and Thelma Martin of Barry, Il.
Also, two aunts, May (Henry) Brierton of Mt. Sterling, Il. and Helen
Ward of Garden Grove, Ca; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces

and nephews; two great great nieces and several cousins. Preceding
Maggie in death was her father.

   Eldon’s survivors include his mother Mary Handrich of Grand Marais,
Mi; two children Tessa Handrich of San Diego, Ca and Dylan Handrich of
Golden, Co; one brother and three sisters.

   Memorial services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the

Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, 204 West
State, Payson, IL. by the Rev. Rodger Lane.

   Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at

the funeral home.
