
MARGIE E. HENRICHS
Mrs. Margie E. Henrichs, 81, of the Good Samaritan Home, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday (February 17, 2005) in her home.
Born August 25, 1923 in Quincy, Margie was the daughter of Hugh E. and Ola Stipes Brownlee Alexander. She married Sidney A. H. Johnson on July 23, 1947 in New Orleans, LA. He died December 9, 1972. She later married Leonard Henrichs on May 24, 1975 in Quincy. He died November 23, 1982.
Mrs. Henrichs was a member of First Union Congregational Church. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the Circle 1 Ladies Group and Band of Prayer Group. Margie was a graduate of Quincy High School, a member of Grace Whipple Chapter #312 O.E.S., Daughters of the Nile, ABBEBA Temple #42 in Springfield, IL., and an honorary member of the Grand Cross of Color of the Rainbow Girls. She was a member of the Blessing Hospital Women's Auxillary, the Good Samaritan Home Women's Auxillary, Elk's Lodge #100 where she was Past President of the Auxiliary, and a member of the American Medical Records Association.
Mrs. Henrichs was a Certified Medical Records Librarian and was employed as the Medical Records Director at the Illinois Veterans Home for 39 years retiring in 1992.
Surviving is her daughter, Abigail "Abbie" Johnson Laufer and her husband Stephen of St. Louis, MO and her sister, Virginia Bell Brownlee of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and two brothers, Carl and Shirley Brownlee.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the First Union Congregational Church by the Rev. Larry Wentzel. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Tuesday from 9:00 until the time of services at the First Union Congregational Church. Grace Whipple Chapter #312 O. E. S. will conduct services Monday evening at 7:00 in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society, the Shriners Children's Hospital, or the First Union Congregation Church.
