MARGUERITE M. GOEHL

Mrs. Marguerite M. Goehl, 91, of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of RR 2, Quincy, died at 9:10 p.m. Friday (April 25, 2008) in the Capital Care Center in Springfield.

Born October 24, 1916 in Quincy, Marguerite was the daughter of Edgar and Nona Smith Gilbert. She married William M. Goehl on August 24, 1935 in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1979.

Marguerite was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved to cook and was a watercolor artist.

Mrs. Goehl was employed as a sales clerk for many years at J. C. Penney in Quincy.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Goehl and his wife Linda of Athens, IL. and Richard Goehl and his wife Andrea of Tomball, TX.; five grandchildren, Justin Goehl of Creve Couer, MO., Kristen Goehl and Heather Goehl both of Tomball, TX., Mary "Mazy" Williams of Hollywood, CA. and Lori Bitar of Westin, FL.; and a great grandson, Jordan Bitar of Westin, FL.

Mrs. Goehl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, William "Sonny" Goehl Jr.; and a brother, Charles Edgar Gilbert.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in Graceland Cemetery, 37th & Maine, Quincy.

There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
