MARION "BUD" BALLINGER JR.
Mr. Marion "Bud" Ballinger Jr., 80, of 633 Kentucky, died at 10:58 a.m. Monday (October 15, 2007) in the emergency room of Blessing Hospital.
Born April 16, 1927 in Quincy, Bud was the son of Marion and Mary Darnell Ballinger Sr. He married Dorothy Gilker on March 10, 1950 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on April 25, 1996.
Mr. Ballinger was a member and construction worker for Labor Local 919 for many years until his retirement. He was a former member of the Quincy VFW, North Side Boat Club, South Side Boat Club, Elks Lodge and the Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors include a son, Steve Ballinger and his wife Tina of Quincy; two daughters, Pat Daniel and her husband Ed of Quincy and Mary Faye Johnson and her husband Dave of Waverly, IL.; twelve grandchildren, Gary Ballinger and his wife Lynda, Travis Ballinger and his wife Briana, Tuffy Ballinger, Candace Ballinger, Tammy Pettyjohn and her husband Steve, Pammy Burner and her husband Marty, Rhonda Nolan and her husband Mike, William Stratman and his wife Kimberly, Mark Stratman, Jason Johnson, Travis Johnson and his wife Sara, and David Johnson and his wife Melissa; twenty nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, Charles Ballinger and his wife Barb and James Ballinger and his wife Alice both of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ballinger was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Edward Ballinger; three brothers, Donald Leroy Ballinger, Robert "Doc" Ballinger and Billy Ballinger; and three sisters, Marjorie Williams, Patricia Ann Ballinger and Viola Roberts.
Graveside services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in Quincy Memorial Park by Pastor Jeff Westcott.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
