MARJIE D. McCLESKEY

Mrs. Marjie Darlene McCleskey, 84, of the Sycamore Health Care Center, formerly of 2130 Sunny Lane, died at 9:03 a.m. Thursday (July 6, 2006) in Blessing Hospital.

Born September 26, 1921 in Adams County, Illinois, Marjie was the daughter of Harry J. and Ethel Mae McCoy Simpson.

Marjie was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church and she enjoyed gardening.

Marjie was employed at the Tropical Nook in Quincy for 10 years and then as a cashier for Fanny May Candies in the Quincy Mall for many years. She later worked in the dietary department of Good Samaritan Home until her retirement.

Surviving are two sons, Daniel McCleskey and his wife Brenda of Hamilton, MO. and Joseph "Joey" McCleskey of Quincy; three grandchildren, Darren McCleskey of Quincy and Megan McCleskey and Madelyn McCleskey all of Hamilton, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McCleskey was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Isabelle Carper; and a brother in law, Gaylord Carper.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
