
MARTHA "LOUISE" SCHLUETER
Martha "Louise" Schlueter, 83 of 908 South 9th Street, died at 5:24 p.m. Saturday (December 29, 2007) in Blessing Emergency Room.
Born April 3, 1924 in Pittsfield, Louise was the daughter of John Hamer and Pearl Mullenix Conrad. She married Gene Schlueter Sr. on August 30, 1941 in Palmyra, MO. He died May 28, 1996.
Louise was a member of the Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, Alpha Chapter #109 Order of the Eastern Star, Miriam Shrine #3 of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Daughters of the Nile, the Ladies Aid South Side Boat Club and a former member of the Moose #986.
Louise and her husband Gene owned and operated Jerry's Wholesale at 407 Hampshire for over 38 years until their retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Ceil Stead and her husband Kevin of Quincy and Martha "Potsy" Brown and her husband Russell of Forest City, IL; five sons, Gene Schlueter Jr. and his wife Melody of Quincy, Randy Schlueter and his wife Lois of Quincy, Jerry Schlueter and his wife Kathy of Maple Grove, MN, John Schlueter and his wife Becky of Quincy and David Schlueter and his wife Patti of Canton, MO; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a sister Norma Berwyn of Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, a grand daughter Shelley Kampen, a sister Lucille "Dale" Pryor and a brother Hamer "Bert" Conrad.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Sydell. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
