MARVIN F. DEDERT

Marvin F. "Pete" Dedert, 85, of 7505 N. 67th St. Quincy, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday (January 15, 2008) in his home.

Born August 26, 1922 in Mendon Township, Marvin was the son of Elmer and Emma Reichert Dedert. He married Evelyn Butts on October 26, 1944 in Quincy. She survives.

Marvin enjoyed bowling and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, Levette "grandma" Stone, and his neighbors.

He farmed all his life with his wife Evelyn on the family farm in Mendon Township. He retired from dairy farming in 1973.

Survivors include five daughters Barbara Stock and her husband Larry of Mendon; Charlotte Kaufman and her husband Gary of Quincy; Ginger Dedert of Quincy; Kay Boone of Mexico, Mo and Debra Knorr and her husband Larry of Fowler, IL; five grandchildren, Pamela Simmons and her husband Robert of Mendon, Kimberly Enke and her husband Jason of Centralia, IL, Kelly Carroll and her husband John of Brazil, South America, Robin Boone, and Trevor Boone both of Mexico, Mo, and four great grandchildren, Carley Simmons and Kelsey Simmons both of Mendon; Alexis Enke of Centralia; Audra Carroll of Brazil; and great grandaughter Enke coming in June; three sisters Arlys Rabe of Quincy; Alta Lee Homan of Ursa; Jeanne Dittme and her husband Wilfred of Quincy; a brother in-law Jim Callahan of Quincy; a cousin Ron Dedert and his wife Mary Jo of Quincy; and also many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dedert was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Ruth Pinto and Delma Callahan; and three brothers in-law Ronald Homan, Gene Rabe, and John Yager.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Leland Uden, Rev. Jan Bengston and Ron Dedert. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
