MARY M. HESS
Mary M. Hess, 81, of Timber Point Health Care Center, Camp Point, formerly of Quincy, died at 2:55 a.m. Monday (October 22, 2007) in Timber Point Health Care Center.
Born December 10, 1925 in Quincy, Illinois, Mary was the daughter of Melvin and Leta Tipton Baum. She married Lloyd George Hess on March 8, 1946 in Quincy. He died October 4, 1989.
Mary was a member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors but especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mary was employed at Motorola and then in the dietary department at Blessing Hospital. She retired in 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Lantz and her husband Terry of Quincy and Marcella McGriff of Ft. Worth, TX.; three grandchildren, Teresa Jansen and her husband Keith of Quincy, Steven Huddleston of Dallas, TX. and Kenneth Huddleston of Ft. Worth, TX.; four great grandchildren, Megan Huddleston, Steven Huddleston, Nicolas Huddleston and Sidney Huddleston all of Dallas, TX.; many loving nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Earl and Mary Cook of Quincy.
Mrs. Hess was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; and a son in law, Jerry McGriff.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Ivan Greuter. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
