
MARY LEE HOLLEMBEAK
Mrs. Mary Lee Hollembeak, 85, of Sunset Home, formerly of 4915 Club Ct., died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday (February 9, 2005) in Sunset Home.
Born May 30, 1919 in Plainville, Illinois, Mrs. Hollembeak was the daughter of Floyde Eldon and Ella Cordelia Wagy Seeley. She married Perry Stanley Hollembeak on March 6, 1938 in Monroe City, Missouri. He died on June 26, 1978.
Mrs. Hollembeak was a 1937 graduate of Seymour High School in Payson. She lived in Plainville, Richfield, St. Charles, Missouri and Pittsfield before moving to Quincy in 1948. While her husband served his country during WW II, Mrs. Hollembeak taught school at Richfield Grade School.
Mr. and Mrs. Hollembeak were the owners of Hollembeak Construction Company in Quincy, Holle Equipment Company of Havana, IL., Cle-Tex Materials in Cleveland, TX. and partners in Bill Bence Ford of Beardstown, IL. Mrs. Hollembeak was also a partner with Ardella Bence and sold antiques, first in Mrs. Hollembeak's home, and then as Somewhere In Time Antiques in Quincy for several years.
Mrs. Hollembeak was an avid bowler and golfer and was a longtime member of Springlake Country Club. She also was a volunteer in the Tea Room at Blessing Hospital for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Loos and her husband Orville Loos Jr. and Charla Snowden both of Quincy; a son, Marc Hollembeak and his wife Rebecca of Flagstaff, AZ.; six grandchildren, Kimberly Shaffer and Kandy Chatten and her husband Craig both of Quincy; Eric Snowden of Brooklyn, NY, Jessica Snowden of Chicago, IL., James Hollembeak of Phoenix, AZ. and Benjamin Hollembeak of Flagstaff, AZ.; two great grandchildren, Kyler Shaffer and Jewel Chatten both of Quincy; a brother in law, Wilbur Buss of Golden, IL.; four sisters in law, Laura Curless and Betty Killebrew and her husband Dale both of Pittsfield, IL., Helen Hollembeak of Scottsdale, AZ. and Evelyn Jean of Harker Heights, TX.; a cousin who was raised with her, Bobby Wagy and his wife Peggy of Wytheville, VA.; and several nieces and nephews including Guy Seeley and his wife Judy of Roseville, IL. and Dwight Seeley and his wife Barbara of Quincy.
Mrs. Hollembeak was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Charles Seeley; and a sister in law, Ione Seeley.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Timothy White.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral services. Private inurnment will be Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Lung Association.
