
MATILDA K. REDNER
Mrs. Matilda K. Redner, 76, of 837 S. 15th, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday (March 3, 2005) at Blessing Hospital.
Born August 4, 1928 in Quincy, IL., Matilda was the daughter of Samuel and Florence Hayden Smith. She married George Earl Redner II on November 23, 1945 in Palmyra, MO. He died June 10, 1999.
Matilda enjoyed fishing, camping and growing flowers. She loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds.
Surviving is her daughter, Sharon Kay Dailing and her husband Robert of Quincy; two sons, George E. Redner III and his wife Pam and Donald E. Redner, all of Quincy; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Smith and his wife Tina of Brooklyn, NY., Larry Smith and his wife Carol and Samuel "Sonny" Smith and his wife Linda, all of Quincy; four sisters, Mary Lou Huner and Betty Jo Klossing and her husband Willis, all of Quincy, Judy Kay Taylor of St. James, MN., and Linda Irick and her husband Danny of Broken Bow, OK.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Jack, Gordon, and Robert Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 and Monday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Heart Center or the Blessing Cancer Center.
