Mrs. Mildred "Millie" Kelle, 78, of the Illinois Veterans Home, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday (December 18, 2004) at the home.
Born May 27, 1926 in Quincy, Millie was the daughter of Alva Martin and Martha Frances Green Smith. She married Charles S. Kelle on January 14, 1950. He survives.
Millie was of the Methodist faith. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Gem Dandy's and Silver Dollars.
Mrs. Kelle was employed in retail for several years and later worked as a bus sitter for Quincy Public Schools.
Also surviving is a daughter, Susan Pruitt of Springfield, MO.; two grandsons, Josh Puebla and Jake Puebla, both of Springfield, MO.; a sister in law, Lucille Smith of Morrilton, AR.; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeffery M. Kelle; and a brother, Russell Smith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Dr. Charles Baker. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
