MILLIE BARNETT

Mrs. Mildred "Millie" Barnett, 93, of Quincy, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (September 15, 2007) in her home.

Born February 8, 1914 in Maywood, Missouri, Millie was the daughter of William and May Schenck Wagner. She married Chester E. Barnett on October 19, 1935 in Warrenton, Missouri. He died December 5, 1957.

Millie was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and the Salem Afternoon Guild. She was employed as a salesperson and buyer for State Street Store for many years until her retirement in 1986.

Survivors include a nephew, Jeff Wagner and his wife Amy of Montreal, MO.; a brother in law, Charles Barnett of Ottumwa, IA.; and many loving friends including, Dick Bruey and Sandra Nelson and her husband Jerry all of Fairfield, IA. and Donna L. Johnston of Maywood, MO.

Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; three brothers, Walter, Cecil and Elmer Wagner; and a friend, Bettye Bruey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
