MILTON F. HIBBARD
Milton F. Hibbard, 88, of Highland, California, died Wednesday evening (May 7, 2008) in San Bernardino, California Hospital.
Born March 31, 1920 in Quincy, Milton was the son of Floyd and Stella Nebe Hibbard. He married Beatrice Shinnebarger on May 17, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.
Milton was a member of Salem United Evangelical Church of Christ, North Side Boat Club, Quincy VFW Post #5129, Quincy American Legion Post #37, Herman Masonic Lodge #39 and member of the Volunteer Emergency Corp. He enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking and working in his yard. He and his wife especially enjoyed their river camp, traveling and wintering in Texas and California. He served his Country in the U.S. Navy during WWII receiving a Purple Heart and other campaign medals at Pearl Harbor.
Milton was a foreman at Gardner-Denver for 32 years retiring in 1975.
Survivors also include two daughters Sandra Dudding and her companion, Robert Perry of Quincy and Barbara Jean Robbins and her husband Robert of Highland, CA; a son Milton Hibbard II and his wife Susie of Flower Mound, TX; nine grandchildren, Jet Hibbard, Dennis Hibbard and David Yuchs and his wife Kimi all of Quincy, Steve Yuchs of Chicago, Chad Hibbard and his wife Maribell and Fenley Kay Hibbard both of Flower Mound, TX, Jennifer Dillon of Austin, TX, Casey Meyer and C.J. Hibbard both of Quincy; six great grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael and Alexis Yuchs and Grayson, Daxon and Dagan Hibbard; a sister Helen Hoagland of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hibbard was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Beatrice Hargraves and Ruth Bourn.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Herman Masonic Lodge #39 will conduct Masonic Services immediately preceding the funeral service. Burial with Military Honors by Payson VFW Post #2061 will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:00 until the time of the services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
