NADINE SELVES

Mrs. Alberta Nadine Selves, 79, of 604 Hamilton Ave., went home to be with her Lord at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday (February 9, 2005) from Blessing Hospital.

Born January 24, 1926 in Lewistown, Missouri, Nadine was the daugher of Fred and Ethel Williams Braungardt. She married William C. Selves on July 22, 1943 in Palmyra, Missouri. He survives.

Nadine was an active member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and loved to travel, traveling extensively throughout the United States with her husband.

A graduate of Durham High School, Nadine was employed as a nurses aid at Blessing Hospital, then as a cook at Jackson School. She later worked at Motorola for several years until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Rev. Roger Selves and his wife Nata of Quincy; two grandchildren, William H. Selves and Nicole Leerhoff and her husband Bryon both of Quincy; two step grandchildren, Kathy Walker and her husband Timothy of Marblehead and Kimberly Maple and her husband Fred of Liberty; a great granddaughter, Kelsey Leerhoff of Quincy; three step great grandchildren, Logan Maple and Madison Maple both of Liberty and Thomas Walker of Marblehead; two brothers, Ronald Braungardt and his wife Marilyn of Aurora, IL. and Terry Braungardt and his wife Donna of Seattle, WA.; a sister, Betty Chatten and her husband William of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Selves was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Maas; and a brother, Fred Braungardt Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Dr. Charles Baker. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery in Durham, Missouri.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
