NANCY MARGARET OLSON DAVIS

Nancy Margaret Olson Davis, 81, of Quincy, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday (April 12, 2008) in Timber Point Health Care Center in Camp Point.

Born March 30, 1927 in Detroit, MI Nancy was the daughter of R. Ferdinand and Almina Burdick Olson. She married well known Quincy optometrist Dr. Gordon Davis in Chicago, IL.

Nancy spent a portion of her childhood in Chicago with her parents. She later moved to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin with her mother and step-father and lived at the family home with her grandparents. After her marriage to Gordon, they resided in Chicago before moving to Mt. Sterling, Quincy, Lake Geneva, Bloomington, Loves Park, before moving back to Quincy in 1959. Nancy and her husband were members of the Quinsippi Yacht Club. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to travel with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, boating, reading, dancing and doing volunteer work at Blessing Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Davis of Quincy and Steven Davis of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Hugh R. Olson and a step brother Gary Gygax.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Davis. A memorial service will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the memorial service.
