NORMA CLAPP-PARKS

Mrs. Norma Clapp-Parks, 73, of Taylor, Missouri, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, closed her beautiful brown eyes and with grace went to be with our Heavenly Father at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday (October 3, 2007) in her home. With the help of Blessing Hospice we were able to keep her at home and at peace these last two weeks.

Born May 27, 1934 in Quincy, Norma was the daughter of Elston P. and Thelma R. Morton Stockdale. She married Willard Clapp on June 22, 1951 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She married James D. Parks on March 4, 1995 in Canton, Missouri. He survives.

Norma attended Madison Park Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking and collecting horse and rooster figurines. Norma devoted her life to taking care of her family and cherished the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren.

Norma was employed at Quincy Speaker and then in the dietary department at Sunset Home for many years until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband, James; two daughters, Paula Willing Bowness and her husband Roger of Maywood, MO. and Pamela Cobern and her husband Craig of Kellerville, IL.; a son, Terry Clapp and his wife Angela of Camp Point, IL.; two step daughters, Sheila Parks of Florida and Deanna Naber of Springfield, MO.; 12 grandchildren, Jamie O'Neal and her husband Alex, Crystal Clapp and Christopher Clapp all of Quincy, Danny Clapp of Dallas, TX., Terry Wayne Clapp and his wife Stacey of Frisco, TX., Amanda Cantrell of Fowler, IL., Archie Cobern and his wife Laurie of Loraine, IL., Michael Cobern of St. Joseph, MO., and Stephanie Karczewski, Angelique Cobern, Candice Cobern and Judge Cobern and his wife Mandy all of Clayton, IL.; 31 great grandchildren; a sister, Naomi Schutte and her husband Roy of Canton, MO.; two aunts, Belva Clapp of Golden, IL. and Vivian Clapp of Quincy; a great aunt, Arlene Stodall of Forsyth, MO.; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ivan "Sonny" Stockdale; and a sister, Johann Havener.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Bruce Willard. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Norma Clapp-Parks Memorial Fund.
