NORMAN F. BROCKMEYER

Mr. Norman F. Brockmeyer, 90, of rural Quincy, died at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (February 10, 2010) in Blessing Hospital.

Born May 16, 1919 in Adams County, Illinois, Norman was the son of Frederick and Rosena Gunseth Brockmeyer.

Norman was a member of Duck's Unlimited, the National Rifle Association and the Illinois Rifle Association. An avid hunter and fisherman, Norman also enjoyed gardening and in his younger days, bowling in various leagues in Quincy. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed listening to the games on the radio and loved the many dogs he had over the years.

Norman farmed all of his life on the family farm in rural Quincy until his retirement.

Surviving are three first cousins, Marilyn Drebes and her husband Curt, Arlene Tenk and Bea Arnold all of Quincy; and several second cousins including, Brad Beckman and his wife Cindy, Steve Drebes and his wife Jeanne and Mike Landwehr and his wife Janet all of Quincy.

Mr. Brockmeyer was preceded in death by his parents; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Brockmeyer. The family invites friends to a visitation on Tuesday evening from 4:30 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Private Inurnment will be in Bluff Hall Cemetery.
