Mrs. Olive Sheppard, 84, of the Lincoln Douglas Apartments, died at 5:00 a.m. Monday (December 13, 2004) in Blessing Hospital.
Born October 22, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri, Olive was the daughter of James Nelson and Ida Belle Lee Sheppard.
Olive enjoyed reading and crocheting and loved helping others by volunteering for many years at Quinsippi Nursing Home. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
Olive was the owner and operator of the Branding Iron for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Ida J. Manlove of Quincy and Myrna Crawford of Dallas, TX.; three grandchildren, Valerie Meier, whom she raised, and her husband Donald "Kent", Angela Quincy and Everette "Bud" Manlove all of Quincy; seven great grandchildren, Yvonne Robison and her husband Will of Ft. Worth, TX., Jason Quincy, Mathew Meier, Jennifer Kelly and her husband Roger, Samantha Meier, Michelle Manlove and Danielle Meier all of Quincy; five great great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Quincy, Madelyn Quincy, Nathaniel Meier and his mother Tiffany Junkerman and Peyton Kelly all of Quincy and Abigail Robison of Ft. Worth, TX.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Marc Crawford; three brothers, Jay Ruddle and two in infancy; six sisters, Blanche Cook, Alta Darden, Georgia Compton and Daisy Carey and two in infancy; and a nephew, Charles Carey.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. George Tomko.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 until 1:15 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
