Mrs. Patricia "Paddy" Nevin, 63, a former Quincy resident, passed away Saturday (November 27, 2004) at Roper Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina from complications of Leukemia.
Born June 27, 1941 in Yonkers, New York, Paddy was the daughter of George and Una Reynolds McCann. Paddy was married to Jack Nevin on January 21, 1961 and they began their married life in Yonkers, New York with later moves to Orange, CT.; Campinas, Brasil; Freehold, NJ.; Quincy and currently of Austin, TX.
Paddy is survived by her husband Jack; one son, Jeffery Nevin and his wife Nikki of Quincy; five daughters, Jan Connell and her husband Mark of Toms River, NJ., Nancy Roberts and her husband Vernon of Matthews, NC., Karen Miranda and her husband Ray of Watertown, CT., Susan Connolly and her husband Kevin of Southbury, CT., and Paddy Chehanske and her husband James of Howell, NJ; and one sister, Una Llewelyn of Whitehall, PA. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren whowere her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James McCann.
Paddy's life was dedicated to being a wonderful mother, a loving and caring grandmother and a devoted spouse. Her love for all those around her was her greatest gift to all who knew her.
A mass celebrating her life was held Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, N.Y. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, December 15 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with a Prayer service at 7:45 p.m. Inurnment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. on December 28, 2004.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Province of St. Mary, Capuchin Mission Association of New York, NY. or the Roper Bone Marrow Transplant Program in Charleston, SC. Paddy's family has also asked that a pint of blood or platelets be given in her memory to the American Red Cross.
