
PERRY D. "POPS" WALKER
Mr. Perry Douglas "Pops" Walker, 83, of Casa Grande, Arizona, a former longtime resident of Quincy, died Friday (October 14, 2005) in the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center in Arizona.
Born February 10, 1922 in Louisiana, Missouri, Perry was the son of Daniel E. and Edith R. Walker.
Mr. Walker served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II, and trained on the Norden bomb sights in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Mr. Walker was a 60 year member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge No. 529 and a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1038 in Arizona City, AZ., Quincy Consistory, Ansar Temple of Springfield, Quincy Shrine Club and Quincy High Twelve Club. He was an outgoing man who enjoyed people, traveling and the desert, but cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Dan Walker of Bloomington, IL. and Greg Walker of Casa Grande, AZ.; a daughter, Lynda Sue Richardson of Connorsville, IN.; two brothers, Daniel Walker and Kenneth Walker; six sisters, Silvia Woods, Margaret Carey, Pauline Maxwell, Dannella Collins, Edith Griffin and Maybelle Harsey; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Connie Hoskins Walker; and a grandson, John Douglas Walker.
A memorial gathering of friends and family will begin Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Plainville Masonic Lodge No. 529 will conduct Masonic services at 1:30 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
