PHYLLIS COONS

Mrs. Phyllis Coons, 80, of 813 South 16th, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday (September 20, 2006) in the home of her son.

Born January 21, 1926 in Williamstown, Missouri, Phyllis was the daughter of Howard and Leta Hamilton Gosney. She married Charles L. Coons on December 2, 1945 in Bevier, Missouri. He died January 27, 2003.

Phyllis attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She and her husband loved traveling, camping and fishing.

Phyllis worked at Packaging Corporation for many years and later as a nurses aid for St. Mary Hospital and Quinsippi Nursing Home until her retirement.

Surviving is her son, Charles W. "Bill" Coons and his wife Kitty of Quincy; four grandchildren, Tom Coons, Seth Coons, Jared Coons and Cory Joanna Rizvi and her husband Fahad all of Quincy; a great grandson, Yousuf Rizvi of Quincy; two sisters, Helen Moss and her husband Bill of Oxnard, CA. and Elberta Miller and her husband Glenn of Spring Hill, FL.; a brother in law, Carl Lisenbee of Ewing, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Coons was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, a grandson, Aaron Michael Coons; two sisters, Jane Lisenbee and Morine Meyers; and a brother in law, Herb Meyers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Bishop Gene Mann. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:30 to 7:00 and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
