RANDY UPPINGHOUSE

Mr. Randy D. Uppinghouse, 56, of  Payson, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (February 21, 2008) in his home.

Born May 15, 1951 in Quincy, Randy was the son of Delbert "Red" and June Herpin Uppinghouse. He married Pam K. Conners on April 10, 1971 in Quincy. She survives.

Randy was an avid Nascar and Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. Racing was a family tradition and Randy was one of four generations of racers in the Uppinghouse family. He raced the number 26 car for over 20 years at Quincy Raceways and many other tracks in the area. A devoted husbnd, father and grandfather, Randy loved spending time with his family and enjoyed taking care of his yard.

Randy was employed as a truck driver for many years and owned and operated R & P Trucking for over 15 years. He retired due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Pam; two sons, Randy W. Uppinghouse and his wife Julie of Payson and Ritchie L. Uppinghouse of Hannibal, MO.; six grandchildren, Dakota Uppinghouse of Hannibal, MO. and Arika Uppinghouse, Austin Uppinghouse, Andy Boden, David Boden and Heidi Boden all of Payson; three sisters, Carol Wilson and her husband Jeff of Payson, Cathy Koetters and her husband Robert of Payson and Chris Kroencke and her husband Richard of Kinderhook; two sisters in law, Phyllis Schaefer of Quincy and Connie Powell of Geneva, NE.; two brothers in law, Clarence Conners and his wife Barb of Quincy and David Conners and his wife Kay of Pleasant Hill, IL.; and many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Uppinghouse was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sherry Kabrick; his father in law and mother in law, Clarence and Bessie Conners; a sister in law, Donna Toni Leindecker; and two brothers in law, Keith Schaefer and Doug Powell.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy by the Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
