
RAY C. CAMPBELL
Ray C. Campbell, 88, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 14 Windy Hill, died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday (March 8, 2005) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born May 5, 1916 in Quincy, Mr. Campbell was the son of Claude and Matilda Brink Campbell. He married Marjorie E. Kunkel on December 19, 1942 in Hannibal, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 26, 1992.
Mr. Campbell was a partner in the Kunkel Packing and Provisions Company until 1967 and Quincy Building Materials until 1974. After his retirement, he worked in real estate and started the Quincy Real Estate Company with Floyd Terstegge in 1978. He was a member St. Peters Catholic Church and the Elks Club. In earlier years, he was active with the Shrine Club.
Survivors include a son, Dennis A. Campbell and his wife Nancy and their daughter Lisa of Quincy; a very special friend, Elaine Nelson; a brother in law, Arthur Kunkel and his wife Nancy of Quincy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Virginia Buster.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Peters Catholic Church by the Rev. Roy Bauer. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. A Parrish Prayer Service will be held Thursday evening at 6:00 in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home or the St. Peters School Educational Fund.
