REGINA RUFF
Mrs. Regina Ruff, 88, of 3201 Conifer Drive, Springfield, Illinois, formerly of 2210 Cherry Lane Estates in Quincy, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday (July 10, 2006) at the Regency North Home in Springfield, Illinois.
Born June 27, 1918 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Regina was the daughter of Alfred and Anna Kerr Krupps. She married Bertram D. "Bert" Ruff on July 17, 1942 in St. Rose Catholic Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2002.
Regina was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Altar Society and St. Mary Hospital Alumni.
A 1937 graduate of St. Mary High School in Mt. Sterling, Regina received her nurses training at St. Mary Hospital in Quincy. She worked as an R. N. at St. Mary Hospital and then as an Industrial Nurse for Carter Carburator in St. Louis, MO. She later worked as a private duty nurse in Little Rock, Arkansas and Columbus, Georgia until her retirement.
Surviving is a daughter, Patricia Pikesh and her husband Kevin of Springfield, IL.; a daughter in law, Diane Ruff of Columbia, MO.; two grandchildren, Jamie Gilliland and her husband Ryan of Jefferson City, MO. and Jeri Ruff of Columbia, MO.; a great grandson, Matthew Gilliland of Jefferson City, MO.; two sisters, Florence Carney of Wheaton, IL. and Rosemary Howell and her husband Robert of Payson; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ruff was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bert; a son, Douglas Ruff; a daughter in infancy, Regina Ann Ruff; and two brothers, LaVerne Krupps and A. J. Krupps.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 7th & Maine by the Rev. John Carberry and the Rev. John Kennedy. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday morning from 8:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
