RICHARD C. SCHMID

Mr. Richard C. Schmid, 83, of Chandler, Arizona, formerly of 3306 College in Quincy, died at 8.50 p.m. Tuesday (September 11, 2007 in Chandler, Arizona.

Born March 18, 1924 in Lincoln, Nebraska, Richard was the son of Carl B. and Irene Brazelton Schmid. He married Helen L. Owen on September 24, 1953 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on August 4, 1994.

While living in Quincy, Mr. Schmid was a member of First Christian Church, the Stroke Club and the Care Givers Support Group of the Family Service Agency. He was a graduate of Quincy High School and played in the Band under the direction of Paul Morrison. Mr. Schmid served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II and Korea.

Mr. Schmid owned and operated the A & W Drive In on North 12th until it's closing in 1969. He later worked in maintenance for the Quincy Public Schools until his retirement.

Survivors include two step sons, Larry C. Likes and his wife Diana of Chandler, AZ. and Charles L. Likes and his wife Fay of Westchester, IL.; and many loving step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Mr. Schmid was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and a step daughter, Lourilee Brown.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Joby Brown. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Quincy High School Music Department to honor Mr. Schmid.
