ROBERT J. "BOB" NOLL
Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Noll, 84, of 2301 Washington, died at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday (October 9, 2007) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born May 23, 1923 in Springfield, IL, Bob was the son of Edward and Mary Ellen Ostenburger Noll. He married Delma Irene Keim on September 11, 1943 in Springfield. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2001.
Mr. Noll was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. He was a 62 year member of Herman Masonic Lodge #39, Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple of Springfield and past member of the Quincy Shrine Club. Bob had served as manager of the Consistory stage properties at the Masonic Temple for several years. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Award (MSA) in 1991 from the Illinois Council of Deliberation. He was also a member of United Commercial Travelers having served in various offices. He was a volunteer shuttle driver at Blessing Hospital and also volunteered at the Cancer desk.
Bob moved to Quincy on June 1, 1946 from Springfield and went into the heating and air conditioning business with Ernest Keim at 1808 State. He and his wife were in business there until their retirement in 1986.
Survivors include a sister Amelia Vangeison of Springfield, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delma, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice or to Shriners Hospital.
