ROBERT "BOB" PAUL

Mr. Robert "Bob" Paul, 80, of 818 South 17th, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday (September 27, 2007) in his home.

Born October 16, 1926 in Carrollton, Missouri, Bob was the son of Larry H. and Mildred Hicks Paul. He was raised in his home by his mother and step father, Emmett Potts. He married Vivian L. Snider on June 9, 1945 in Gulfport, Mississippi. She survives.

Bob was employed as an agent for National Life and Accident Insurance Company (AIG) for over 40 years, retiring in 1988.

Mr. Paul was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church where he served on the Church Board and was a Sunday School teacher for the 4 and 5 year olds for over 20 years. He also was a mentor at Dewey School and at the Early Childhood Education Center. Bob enjoyed bowling, collecting coins and playing Santa at the Kiddie Korner Day Care for many years. His greatest joy came in the time he spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian; two daughters, Linda Goodwin and her husband Terry and Janet Wester and her husband Mike both of Quincy; four grandchildren, Stephanie Powell and her husband Jim of Peoria, IL., Jolie Kroeger, Stacey Jones and her husband Lance and Austin Wester all of Quincy; six great grandchildren, Timothy Powell and Trevor Powell both of Peoria, IL., and Brendan Kroeger, Emma Kroeger, Sydney Jones and Gannon Jones all of Quincy; a brother, Joe Potts and his wife Judy of Lee's Summitt, MO.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Paul and Eugene "Genie" Potts; a son in law, Tim George; and a grandson in law, Dan Kroeger.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Jim Powell and Pastor Larry Connour. Burial with Military Honors by Quincy American Legion Post 37 will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice, Faith Assembly of God Church or the Dewey School Library Fund.
