
ROBERT LEE SCHROEDER
Mr. Robert Lee Schroeder, 86, of 2511 Ken Mar Terrace, died at 8:00 a.m. Monday (July 30, 2007) in his home.
Born January 30, 1921 in Quincy, Robert was the son of Frank and Laura Lange Schroeder. He married L. Jane Edens on November 15, 1939 in New London, Missouri. She preceded him in death on January 9, 1988. He married Shirley J. Ginther Slough on January 6, 1990 in Quincy. She survives.
Mr. Schroeder was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Quincy Masonic Lodge No. 296, and the Elks Lodge No. 100. He enjoyed traveling.
A graduate of Quincy High School, Mr. Schroeder owned and operated two Clark Oil Stations in Quincy for several years. He later was employed as a loan officer at the Illinois State Bank for 17 years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a son, Michael Schroeder and his wife Betty of Norcross, GA.; a step daughter, Deana Smith and her husband Michael of Quincy; two grandsons Bobby Schroeder and Billy Schroeder both of Norcross, GA.; two step grandchildren, Jennifer Stickler and her husband John Jay of Crete, IL. and Kelsey Smith of Quincy; two step grandchildren, Jacob Stickler and Jessica Stickler both of Crete, IL.; and a nephew, Ron Tryon of Quincy.
Mr. Schroeder was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jane; one brother; and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. Rod Bakker.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 until 10:45 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
