MERLE B. "ROCKY" MERREIGHN JR.

Merle B. "Rocky" Merreighn Jr., 49, of Jacksonville, formerly of Quincy, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday (February 22, 2007) in his home. Born November 27, 1957 in Springfield, Illinois, Rocky was the son of Merle B. and Clara Faye Pate Merreighn Sr. He married Susan Lloyd on March 14, 1976 in Chapin, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving is a son, R.J. Merreighn of Quincy; a daughter, Bridgett Zanger and her husband Chuck of Quincy; five grandchildren, Kade Zanger, Raulin Zanger, Owen Zanger, Myles Merreighn and Hayden Merreighn, all of Quincy; two sisters, Marilyn Nichols of Quincy and Kathy Lefebvre and her husband Tim of Arenzville, IL.; his step father, Earl Nichols of Quincy, and a step brother, Gary Nichols of Beardstown, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Merreighn was a graduate of Triopia High School and was a member of the Quincy Exchange Club. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, trap shooting and his Harley Davidson.

Rocky was employed at IL-MO Product Company in Quincy and Jacksonville for over 28 years.

Graveside services will be held Monday afternoon at 12:00 at the North Cemetery in Arenzville, Illinois, with a reception immediately following at Arenzville United Methodist Church Hall.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 3:00 until 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.
