
RONALD P. HINTON
Mr. Ronald Philip "Ron" Hinton, 72, of 1526 Lori Drive, Quincy, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday (May 28, 2007) in Blessing Hospital.
Born August 1, 1934 in Quincy, Ron was the son of Lewis and Frances Plunkett Hinton. He married Patricia Dailing on January 24, 1953 in Quincy. She survives.
Ron was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a 1952 graduate of Quincy High School and also attended Quincy College. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, trap shooting, flying airplanes, traveling, fishing and hunting. Ron was a member of Bodley Masonic Lodge #1, Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple of Springfield, Quincy Shrine Club, The Shrine Belgian Hitch, past member of the Shrine Skeeter Patrol, Royal Arch Masons, past district deputy and past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge #100, member of the Moose and past member of the Quincy Toast Masters. He was also a member of the Illinois and Missouri Manufactured Housing Associations, having served on the Illinois board.
Mr. Hinton owned and operated Hinton Motor Service and Hinton Truck Sales from 1951 to 1986. In 1970 he and his wife Pat built the Town & Country Mobile Estates and in 1992 established Town & Country Manufactured Homes.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; a son, Mark Hinton of New Haven, CT.; three daughters, Lisa McDonald and her husband Dominic and Lori Kenady both of Quincy and Shari Harberts and her husband Steve of Waukee, IA.; ten grandchildren, Shawn McDonald and his wife Jackie of Quincy, Quinn McDonald of Arvada, CO., Aaron McDonald and his wife Nicole of Littleton, CO., Devin McDonald of Pueblo Springs, CO., Natalie Kenady of St. Louis, MO., Elizabeth Kenady of Quincy, Lindsay Hinton of Chesterfield, MO., Lukas Hinton of Macomb, John Harberts and his wife Dawn of Chariton, IA. and Nicole Long and her husband Trip of Orlando, FL.; and six great grandchildren, Keegan McDonald, Kerigan McDonald and Ava Kenady, all of Quincy, and Dustin Harberts, Devin Harberts and Dylan Harberts, all of Chariton, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gary Hinton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Ivan Greuter. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
