ROSCOE TOOLATE SR.
Mr. Roscoe Toolate Sr., 58, of 812 South 17th, died at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday (November 14, 2007) in his home.
Born November 29, 1948 in Hannibal, Missouri Roscoe was the son of Jesse Toolate and Delores Knowles Toolate. He married Joyce A. Fulmer on December 16, 1967 in Quincy. She survives.
Roscoe enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, working on cars and motorcycles, and collecting sports cards and coins. He also enjoyed being on his CB radio using his handle # 3. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
He was employed as a welder at Speedrack for 17 years, and then worked for the David Miller Construction Co. in Missouri for several years until retiring due to ill health.
Survivors include his mother, Delores Toolate Dodd of Quincy; three daughters Michele "Shelly" Toolate; Colvin of Oklahoma City, OK, Jesse "J.T." Toolate, and Amanda "Mandy" Toolate both of Quincy. One son Roscoe "Eddie" Toolate Jr. of Mendon, IL, and three special young men who Roscoe mentored during their youth namely Jason Colvin of Troy, MO, Rudy Gravitt, of the State of Virginia, and Kevin Blackburn of Ft. Worth, TX.; seven grandchildren; Stevie Michele Colvin of Quincy, Zachary Jason Colvin of Troy, MO, Eryn Nicole Toolate, and Evan Toolate both of Mendon, IL, Brodie Donovan Toolate of Quincy, Roscoe Edward Toolate III of Ursa, IL, and Jadyn Toolate of Mendon, IL.; six brothers Jim Toolate of California, Russell Toolate and his wife Marilyn of New London, MO, Larry Toolate of Quincy, Marvin Toolate of California, Gary Toolate and his wife Connie of Monticello, MO, and Richard Toolate of Macomb, IL.; five sisters Sandy Toolate of Oklahoma City, OK, Brenda Schlueter of Quincy, Peggy Duncan and her husband Dale of Hannibal, MO, Camelia Pohl and her husband Randy, and Ailema Toolate both of Davenport, IA.
Mr. Toolate was preceded in death by his father, and a sister Carolyn Toolate.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Elena Kroeger, Minister. Inurnment will be at a later date in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
