RUTH C. SCHALK

Mrs. Ruth C. Schalk, 84, of 1224 Jersey, died at 4:41 a.m. Saturday (August 20, 2005) at the Illinois Veterans Home.

Born November 8, 1920 in Quincy, Ruth was the daughter of Arlie and Florence Warmker Ward. She married Arthur L. Schalk on October 11, 1947 in Hannibal, MO. He died April 22, 2005.

Ruth was a 1938 graduate of Quincy High School. She enjoyed doing needle work, playing cards and bingo. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was a devoted caregiver to all her family and will be missed by all whose lifes she touched.

Surviving is one daughter, Kathryn Miller and her husband Donald of Quincy; two grandchildren, Amy Behrensmeyer and her husband Andy of Quincy and Jeremy Miller and his wife Vickie of Mendon; three great grandchildren, Shelby Behrensmeyer and Shannon Behrensmeyer both of Quincy and Katelyn Miller of Mendon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Graveside services will be held Monday morning at 11:30 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. Timothy White.

Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 to 11:15 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
