RUTH SCHEMPP

Mrs. Ruth Schempp, 88, of Sunset Home, formerly of 725 South 6th, died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday (October 28, 2007) in Sunset Home.

Born June 21, 1919 in Barry, Illinois, Ruth was the daughter of Henry and Jennie Hinch Dunham. She married John Boyd who preceded her in death. She then married Homer Schempp who preceded her in death.

Ruth was employed at Motorola for many years. She enjoyed being outdoors and tending to her flower garden, but her greatest joy came in spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen Boyd and his wife Vickie and John Boyd and his wife Sharon both of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Joan Boyd Anderson and her life partner, Dan Wiemelt, Jason Boyd and his wife Karen, Brent Boyd and Robert Harwood and his wife Lillian all of Quincy, Michael Boyd and his wife Alice of Keokuk, IA., Judith Boyd and Jeffrey Boyd and his wife Patricia both of Ft. Madison, IA. and Keith Boyd of Washington; eleven great grandchildren, Rex A. Anderson II and his fiance' Melissa Schreake, Olivia Wiemelt, Jared Wiemelt, Joshua Boyd, Justin Boyd, Matthew Boyd, Alex Boyd, Steven Boyd, Zach Boyd, Cassandra Boyd and Hannah Boyd; a sister, Fern Purcell of Kansas City, MO.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Schempp was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a daughter in law, Sandra Boyd; a brother, Buddy Dunham; and four sisters, Louise Dolbeare, Leola Mickalowski, Patsy Williams and Letha Gallaher.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Ivan Greuter. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
