SANDRA K. REEDER

Sandra K. Reeder, 62, of 1812 Wilmar Orchard, Quincy, died at 2:05 pm Saturday (May 30, 2009) at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Born January 23, 1947 in Quincy, Sandy was the daughter of Leroy J. and Hazel Sanders Reeder Sr.

A 1965 graduate of Quincy High School, Sandy also graduated from Gem City Business College and graduated Cum Laude from Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. She was an avid reader, enjoyed history, attended Quincy University Basketball games and productions at the Quincy Community Theater. Always a generous person, Sandy supported various charities and organizations throughout the Quincy area..

Sandy was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) and was a 42 year active member of Alpha Chapter 109 Order of Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in 1977, Grand Representative to Ontario in 1995, Grand Lecturer from 1995 to 2006 and was currently serving as the Associate Matron.

Sandy was employed for 41 years at Gardner Denver as the Technical Manual Coordinator. She retired in 2008.

Survivors include her sister, Ruby Bowman of Quincy; a niece, Linda Goehl and her husband Michael; seven nephews, Greg Reeder, Tim Reeder, Rick Reeder, Mark Reeder, Bob Bowman, Kent Bowman and Dick Bowman; a dear friend, Joe Garrison; and many loving great nieces and great nephews..

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Roxine Stranckmeyer and Rosella Bowman; and two brothers, William Reeder and Leroy Reeder Jr.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Alpha Chapter 109 O.E.S. will conduct services Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 followed by a celebration of Sandy's life officiated by Chaplain Jim Mitchell at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
