SHIRLEY A. SCHAEFFER

Mrs. Shirley A. Schaeffer, 77, of 1528 Lew Court, Quincy, died at 12:00 Noon Wednesday (January 16, 2008) in Blessing Hospital.

Born December 21, 1930 in Knox City, Missouri, Shirley was the daughter of Arthur J. and Frankie L. Steffen Seeger. She married Clyde Schaeffer on December 2, 1954 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1999.

Shirley was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 100 and a former member of Sheridan Swim Club where she served on the Board of Directors. She enjoyed playing Bingo and painting with oils and watercolors, but especially loved to spend time at her river camp in LaGrange.

Shirley and her husband Clyde owned and operated Schaeffer Music Company for over 50 years. She also was a former manager of the Elks Lodge, a switchboard operator for the telephone company and a beauty operator.

Survivors include two daughters, Roxie Coffey and Niki Aschemann and her husband John both of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Shelby Broome, Bobbie Rouse, Schaeffer Aschemann and Hayley Coffey all of Quincy, Sgt. Dustin Foster and his wife Kathy, stationed with the U.S. Army in Tacoma, WA., Keegan Rouse of Sutter, IL. and Matt Aschemann of Gwinn, MI.; five great grandchildren, Isiah Foster and Kiana Foster both of Tacoma, WA., Jayden Broome and Aaliyah Broome both of Quincy and Avryn Perry of Sutter, IL.; a sister in law, Mary Sue Seeger of Knox City, MO.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Schaeffer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde; and a brother, Lyman Seeger.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 and Monday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
