Mrs. Sunja Kim, 81, of 4034 Catamaran Court, Quincy, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday (February 20, 2008) in the home of her daughter, Dr. Kinim Smith.
Born February 1, 1927 in Seoul, South Korea, Sunja was the daughter of Hyun Ghi and Yunghwa Park Kim. In 1948, Sunja marrried Jooyeol In in Seoul, South Korea. He preceded her in death in 2004.
A teacher at the University of Seoul, Sunja taught Japanese, floral arranging and the unique art of making celadon. Many of her art pieces were exhibited in Hong Kong and throughout Japan.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters, including Dr. Kinim Smith of Quincy, who has her medical practice in Hannibal; fourteen grandchildren and two brothers.
Mrs. Kim was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Kim. Services will be held in South Korea at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Hannibal Regional Hospital Alzheimer's Unit
