THOMAS R. JOHNSON

Mr. Thomas R. Johnson, 74, of 2023 Spruce, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday (November 27, 2006) in his home.

Born January 27, 1932 in Quincy, Tommy was the son of Richard and Rebecca Fonza Johnson. He married Louise Lobato in 1980 in Denver, Colorado. She survives.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. He was an avid sportsman who was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers and was a professional drag racer and model.

Mr. Johnson was employed as a heavy equipment operator in the street department for the city and county of Denver, CO. until his retirement.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Lobato and Vincent Lobato and his wife Patricia, both of Denver, CO.; three daughters, Cheri L. Cartmill of Quincy, Deborah D. Brown of Florissant, MO. and Nichole L. Johnson of Denver, CO.; eleven grandchildren, Dionne Brown, Dwayne Daggs, Raynard Brown all of Florissant, MO., Kyle M. Cartmill and his wife Joi of Denton, TX., Shalyn Cartmill-Waddell and her husband Reginald of Carrollton, TX., Erica, Matthew, Jonathon, Eleisia and Elijah Lobato and Tiana Johnson all of Denver, CO.; six loving great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Orville B. Jones Jr. and the Rev. James Haley. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 12:00 until the time of the services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
