THOMAS A. SCHEITER

Mr. Thomas A. Scheiter, 64, of 712 South 13th, died at 10:47 p.m. Monday (December 19, 2005) in the emergency room of Blessing Hospital.

Born July 20, 1941 in Quincy, Thom was the son of Albert C. and Catherine Koyer Scheiter. He married Betty Jones on September 3, 1960 in Quincy. She survives.

Thom devoted his life to his family and his greatest joy was being grandpa to his six grandchildren. He was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School and was a member of the Quincy Board of Realtors and was a Past President of Quincy Catholic Charities.

Thom worked at Moorman Manufacturing and farmed in Liberty for many years before becoming a realtor for Bower & Associates and Awerkamp & Hays. In 2000, he opened Independent Real Estate Company which he currently owned and operated.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, Curt Scheiter and his wife Sue of Liberty and Timothy Scheiter and his wife Niki of Quincy; two daughters, C. Heidi Steinkamp and her husband Adam and Greta Scheiter both of Quincy; six grandchildren, Matthew Scheiter, Alex Scheiter and Tiana Scheiter all of Liberty, Catherine Steinkamp, Curtis Steinkamp and Brittany Scheiter all of Quincy; a brother, John Scheiter and his wife Cindy of Hallsville, MO.; two sisters, Alberta Kuhlman and her husband Jim and Joan Rhea and her husband Bob both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Scheiter was preceded in death by his parents; a step mother, Addie Scheiter; and one sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Troxel. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family to help pay medical expenses.
