
UNABELLE ELIZABETH "TRIXIE" GLEASON
Mrs. Unabelle E. "Trixie" Gleason, 90, of 2414 Monroe, died at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday (May 2, 2006) in Blessing Hospital.
Born October 14, 1915 in Nelsonville, Missouri, Trixie was the daughter of Charles and Viola Bauer Claus. She married Robert Gleason on August 10, 1940. He died February 16, 2000.
Trixie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at various places throughout Quincy including the Tea Room at Blessing Hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge and square dancing and was a member of the Q City Square Dance Club.
She was employed at Sears in the catalog department for four years. She then worked in the catalog and credit card department at JC Penney for thirteen years until her retirement in 1996.
Surviving is her daughter, Sandra Kay Gleason of Quincy; two brothers, Charles Claus Jr. and his wife Grace of Seattle, WA. and Melvin Claus and his wife Connie of Kemit, CA.; three sisters, Jean Ahern of Quincy, Pat Dunker and her husband Don of Webb City, MO. and Kay Hediger and his wife Neil of Peoria, IL.; two sisters in law, Anne Claus of Elk City, OK. and Pat Claus of Pheonix, AZ.; a niece, Debra Jarvis and her husband Rex of Quincy and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Dixie Anderson; and three brothers, Kenneth, A.J. and Wilford Claus.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Rod Bakker and Rev. Kevin McGinnis. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
