
VADA E. DECKER
Mrs. Vada E. Decker, 85, of 590 Highway 57, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday (November 16, 2005) in her home.
Born July 11, 1920 near Mendon, Illinois, Vada was the daughter of Charles and Etta Jenkins Cannell. She married Henry H. Decker on September 27, 1940 in Bowling Green, Missouri. He died November 6, 2004.
Mrs. Decker was a member of Union United Methodist Church and was a 1938 graduate of Mendon High School. She enjoyed reading western novels, cooking, crocheting and working in her flower garden. She was devoted to her family and loved traveling throughout the U. S. with her husband, and was active with her children's activities, serving for 11 years as a 4-H Leader of Fall Creek Friends. She was a member of DAR and a former member of the Payson Seymour PTA.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Decker of Quincy and Mary L. Ealy and her husband John of Glidden, IA.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Gerken and her husband Jeff of Elkhorn, NE, Sara J. Ealy of Quincy and Jeff Ealy and his wife Kelly of Omaha, NE.; two great grandchildren, Jack Gerken and Samuel Gerken both of Elkhorn, NE.; a brother, Henry Cannell and his wife Vivian of Mendon, IL.; a sister in law, Verna Cannell of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Decker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Matthew N. Cannell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Morwell. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery in Marcelline, IL.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Methodist Church.
